First collaborative group show a success!
Austin, TX – On March 5, 2016, Dimension Gallery will make its debut with a group exhibition called “Birth: Rebirth, Elemental Origins.” Dimension Gallery is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to exhibiting and promoting sculpture and three-dimensional art. With a recent grant from the City of Austin Cultural Arts Division and sponsorship by Big Medium, the gallery will open with a collaborative group show on March 5th titled “Birth : Rebirth, Elemental Origins.” Artists will create new works that explore the fundamental origins of their process or medium. The show will be a contemplation of origins or underpinnings of the medium or the creative process. In a shared space, the artists will define a new context as a group. By sharing a window into the elemental origins of the work or the medium, the viewer is invited to be a part of the process, envisioning the raw elements. The diversity of medium, reflecting on the diversity of this artist group, will include metal, paper, clay, wood, and found objects. The show will be on view and open to the public from March 5th through 27th, with an opening reception on March 5th. Open gallery hours are every Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 6pm. A small gift shop is also being launched on opening night and will feature art objects, prints, housewares, and jewelry from various local artists.
